Well, it was a real moment, I suppose…
Bem, era um momento real, acredito eu… 

That day I came home and told him, “We’re having a baby!”
Aquele dia eu cheguei em casa e disse a ele: “Vamos ter um bebê!” 

It’s one of those special memories, isn’t it?
Essa é uma daquelas memórias especiais, não é?

And your mind starts filling up with thoughts,
E sua mente começa a se encher de pensamentos, 

really happy thoughts,
pensamentos bem felizes. 

imagining what might come next,
imaginando o que estaria por vir, 

like their first birthday, their graduation, marriage,
como o primeiro aniversário, a graduação, o casamento, 

and maybe even children of their own.
e talvez até mesmo seus próprias crianças. 

And I remember the moment it all changed…
E eu me lembro o momento quando tudo isso mudou… 

listening to the doctor,
escutando o doutor, 

all of that information.
toda aquela informação. 

But only one bit of it really standing out: life-limiting.
Mas só um trecho da conversa se destacava: vida limitada [incompatibilidade com a vida] 

My child was going to die.
Minha criança ia morrer. 

And it all kind of stopped.
Parece que tudo parou. 

We felt lost, and out of reach. And you can feel really alone.
Nós nos sentimos perdidos, fora de alcance. E você consegue se sentir bem sozinho.

But then someone was there for me,
Mas tinha alguém ali para me ajudar, 

just a helping hand, or a kind word, or even a smile.
uma mão amiga, ou palavra gentil, ou mesmo um sorriso. 

It sort of grounds you back down to earth, in a way.
Meio que lhe traz de volta à Terra, de certa forma. 

And we felt, “There are moments to savor.”
E nós sentimos, “Há momentos para saborear.” 

And the moment you realize that there are people who can give you the advice you need is so special.
E o momento que você percebe que há pessoas que podem lhe dar o conselho que você precisa é bem especial. 

It has helped us to make all the time count for our family, to have a life– no matter how short, and to be together.
